The Law Center candidates provided the following personal statements:
Robbie Angarone, Events and Operations Assistant, Office of Event Management and Scheduling
I am Robbie Angarone, I work in the Office of Event Management & Scheduling as Event & Operations Assistant, and I would like to be your next Staff/AAP Council Member. I’ve been lucky to work in an office that interacts with so many different departments across the Law Center for two reasons. For one, I feel like I am a part of a community. Learning from fellow staff during Toolkit Tuesday, talking in a buffet line after a Chow Chat was sent out, even asking people to use the sign-out sheet when picking up signage—these little interactions have added to the value of working at Georgetown Law. Secondly, I’ve deepened my understanding of the kind of work everyone does, growing an appreciation for the dedication staff members have committed to the Law Center.
The work we do is important, and cultivating a strong community is fundamental to our continued success. I am running for Staff/AAP Council to build and advocate for our community. I want to increase the accessibility and functionality of our communications. I would also like to help standardize systems across the schools to allow for easier collaborations and diminish disparities between them. Lastly, as more schools join us on the Capitol Campus, it will be important for us to build relationships with these communities while ensuring that we still have our own voice for advocacy.
If I am elected Staff/AAP Council Member, I am committed to hearing your concerns, being your voice, and strengthening our community.
Omar Azimi, Executive Assistant, Law Development
As a nominee to the Staff and Academic and Administrative Professionals Advisory Council, I look forward to being one of the many voices across the university to advocate for issues that are most important to the community. If elected to the Council, I aim to facilitate communication between the Georgetown community and University decision-makers, administrators, and executives,
Houry Kandoyan, Operations Manager, Center on Privacy & Technology
I’m honored to accept the nomination to run for a seat on the Staff/AAP Advisory Council. Over the past five years at Georgetown, I’ve seen how much staff thrive when they have access to the right resources, feel included, and can maintain balance in their work and personal lives.
I’m passionate about transparency, collaboration, and making sure staff voices are heard. If elected, I’ll bring a practical, honest, and thoughtful approach to supporting our community and pushing for improvements that matter.
Kim Kelly, Office Manager, OPICS
I’ve served on the council for the past two years and find the work to be very rewarding. The Council does excellent work advocating for the University’s staff and I’d like to continue to be a part of that.
Goke Taiwo, Senior Director of Technology Operations and Client Services, IST
I am excited to nominate myself for the Staff/AAP Advisory Council at Georgetown Law, where I will apply my operational / administrative leadership experience and dedication to Jesuit values to promote inclusive dialogue and decision-making.
As Senior Director of Operations and Client Services for IST since April 2024, I have led a diverse team with a variety of experiences and knowledge to support faculty, staff, and students to align technology and processes with Georgetown’s mission of cura personalis, intellectual humility, and service. My role demands balancing efficiency with empathy, ensuring systems support both operational needs and human dignity.
The Council’s focus on amplifying staff voices resonates with my commitment to collaborative leadership. I will:
• Facilitate cross-departmental dialogue to bridge diverse perspectives.
• Advocate for equitable solutions that uphold Georgetown’s values.
I am eager to contribute to a workplace that fosters professional growth and reflects our Jesuit principles. Thank you for your consideration, I would be honored to serve.
Elizabeth Tuggle, Program Associate & Office Manager, Human Rights Institute
I am grateful for the opportunity to run as a member for the Staff and Academic and Administrative Professionals Advisory Council. As a staff member at the Human Rights Institute, I am keenly aware of the issues facing staff, faculty, and administrative professionals here at the Law Center. I would welcome an active role in advocating for my colleagues and peers within the university to ensure that the community that the Law Center has worked so diligently to create is maintained and strengthened. The opportunity to be in service to the Georgetown staff, students, and faculty would not only bolster my own professional development but would also allow me to pay forward the knowledge and support that the Law Center community has given me over my time on campus.
Thank you to the current Council members and to my colleagues for your consideration.
